Honouring the Legacy

Adam and Jean were both staples in Coquitlam Lacrosse.

Adam was a hard-working family man, who could always be found volunteering, coaching, managing, organizing and shuttling not only in lacrosse, but in all sports. He served as the president of the CMLA in the 1980's and as general manager of the Jr. Adanacs in the 1990's. Adam spent decades contributing to lacrosse in Coquitlam and was highly regarded for his ability to foster community within the game.

Jean was a stay-at-home mom, whose impact was made well beyond her home. She was hailed as the loudest cheerleader in the arena and the biggest supporter of all who knew her. This tournament was originally created by Jean in 1987 as a way to spotlight the younger players in the game. With the idea that an opponent is not your enemy and competition can be fun, the Jean Andre Jamboree was born. We honour these ideals with our parade, shoot out, and sharing a freezie with an opposing team post game. Jean's last tournament was in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.

These two losses have been felt deeply throughout the Coquitlam Lacrosse community. But their legacy and contributions live on through tournaments like this and people like you.
